The Shadow of the Almighty — Kingdom Security

Psalms 91:1-2 (AMP)

HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I trust.

Protection is one of man’s greatest needs. There are many dangers everywhere. Indeed it is true that all the days of a man’s life on Earth are full of trouble. But for the child of God, the story is different. In the Kingdom of God, which is not an earthly Kingdom, the protection granted by the King is neither earthly or of this World.

It is not strange to hear of wars, rumours of wars, and to see victims of disasters around us. How will your heart not be troubled, if you do not have the assurance of security? How can you have peace of mind, if your trust is not in the Lord?

From our theme text, we see that only those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under his shadow. Now, the Almighty cannot have a shadow. He is light. The scripture testifies that in the world to come, we shall not need the sun, nor shall we need the moon, for his presence shall light up every place. There’s no greater light than God, so he has no shadow. The word shadow here signifies his protection and the Royal Kingdom covering.

Someone living in the Sahara desert won’t be concerned about snow, neither will he take precautions to buy snow jackets, for the simple fact that he doesn’t need it. He is not bothered, because of the knowledge of where he lives.

God has a secret place, and that secret place is CHRIST. Those who live in that place abide under God’s protection. They are those who have the assurance to call him their refuge. They have God for a stronghold. Their assurance of safety comes from their knowledge of where they stay; these things are automatic.

Kingdom Security

Now, how does the Kingdom protection made available by the Father operate? It is important to be aware, so as to enjoy the full benefits. God loves every one of his children and even those who are yet to receive the invitation of his mercy in Christ. Because of his love, we cannot question his willingness to protect us. The only thing to question is our ability to rest in his protection. Protection in the Kingdom is given in certain ways.

Angelic protection

Angels are not soft looking babies with wings on their shoulders. It’s amazing how the church has embraced the world’s portrayal of angels. The angels of God excel in strength and in glory. If an angel were to appear in a place, not hiding his glory, the people in that place would simply faint in awe. It is not an overstatement or exaggeration. It’s recorded severally in the scriptures (Daniel 8:18-19, 27, Matthew 28:1- 4) We could continue to list the examples but this should give you a basic understanding of who angels are, and the impact they make on the physical.

These angels are those who execute God’s Royal commands. When Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den, it was an angel, just one, that shut up the mouths of the lions (Daniel 6:20-22). When Peter was in prison, it was an angel, just one, that brought him out miraculously (Acts 12:5-11).

The angels of God are not limited to battling demonic powers, but they intervene in real-life situations, according to the requests of children of God and as need be (Matthew 26:52-53, Psalms 91:9-12). Have confidence, for the angels who watch over you, can stop a moving bullet, they can cause you not to be harmed in a bomb blast, in an earthquake and any situations that can come to mind. Compared to the strength and ability of your personal Royal Kingdom assigned protection, they stand as nothing.

Divine direction and Instruction.

The Lord knows the future better than you know the past. He knows what will happen in the next 10 seconds, and what will happen in the next hundred millennia. Time and space are not a mystery with God, neither is he bound by human limits.

Isaiah 46:9-10 (KJV)

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Having such a God for your refuge means that you have access to inside information in every situation. You can know by revelation where the danger will be, and take the other path. You can know if the journey you’ve planned is not safe and postpone it. It is all reality with God, nothing is hidden from his eyes. He will speak to you, that is assured. You only need to learn to hear his voice.

People and circumstances

God will use people to bless and protect you. He will also use situations and circumstances to do so. Even if it means turning the sun to darkness for your sake, he will do it, if it means causing you to not sink in water, he will do it. He is the Lord. Is there anything too hard for him?

Exodus 14:19-22 (AMP)

And the Angel of God Who went before the host of Israel moved and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before them and stood behind them, Coming between the host of Egypt and the host of Israel. It was a cloud and darkness to the Egyptians, but it gave light by night to the Israelites; and the one host did not come near the other all night. Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night and made the sea dry land; and the waters were divided. And the Israelites went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

If you live in CHRIST, then these are the benefits of being in Christ, remind yourself if these things daily, because the manifestation of these things comes through your consciousness of these things, which will make you put your trust in God. Abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

If you are not in CHRIST, you need his life today. Pray to the Father, ask him to forgive your sins because Jesus died for you and paid for your sins. Ask him to give you his Holy Spirit, and adopt you into our Royal Family. If you sincerely call on him, he will by no means reject you. Welcome to the family, God bless you!
